Central Baptist Church of Woodbury will be 115 years old this year(2011). It was established on October 19, 1896 by members who were formerly affiliated with the First Baptist Church of North Broad Street in Woodbury. The church evolved out of the South Side Baptist School started on June 30 1889 by a group of mothers who wanted a Sunday School on the South side of the Woodbury Creek Bridge for their children to attend in safety. Continuing from early in its history, Central Baptist Church in Woodbury has been “A Church that Cares”, with a strong commitment to learning about Jesus Christ and serving others in His name through its local and world-wide missions projects which are central to the life of the church community.

Worship:
|
Our Sunday Worship Service takes place under the leadership of Rev. David Knipel and Dr. Carla A Romarate-Knipel, Interim Pastors, and is facilitated by the Music Ministry of Mr. Bill Fenimore, the CBC Choir, and the Praise Team. Communion is administered on the first Sunday of each month, and is also available for the sick and shut-in (Contact Pat Moore, Chair of the Worship Committee: Email pmoore6720@aol.com). Worship is not just about spending an hour on Sunday morning. It is about living our lives as a daily offering of worship to God, tapping into the source of His power to live the Christian life.
